The Galactic Clock

Every clock hand you've ever read is really just an arc angle mapped to time. This one nests four of them inside each other, at wildly different scales.

The orange dot is the Sun. The small dot orbiting it is Earth. Distances span from astronomical units to light-years, so they're log-scaled here to stay visible in the same view rather than shown to true relative scale.

Scroll to zoom, drag to orbit the camera, use the dropdown to jump time scales.
